Video Analytics Deployed in Museums
What makes Acuity-vct unique is we have actually worked in partnership with nationally known museums to create and successfully deploy Acuity-vct analytics software with our Video Capture System (VCS). Analytics software enhances standard video surveillance. Standard video surveillance can extend a museums security resources but still require a human watch all cameras to see and react to a crisis event. Analytics actually allows our museum clients to have the VCS platform automatically watch each piece in a museums collection and alert your security staff via audio/visual alerts, page, email or any other means that a theft is occurring.
Acuity-vct Analytics Deployment Example The picture below shows how the Acuity-vct analytics is protecting museum pieces. The larger picture shows what the museum guests see when viewing the artwork. The smaller picture overlayed to the right, shows in blue highlighting where the alalytics protection zones are located. When an protection zone is breached, an audible and/or visual alarm is activated, and the museums central and floor level security staff is instantely notified via page, email, or any other requested means.
Please view this brief video of Lou Zona (Executive Director of the Butler Institute of American Art) to see how our analytics system has been deployed within a museum. Click here to view the video at the Butler Institute
This video is an example of Acuity-vct’s Camera Based Motion Alarming System (CBMAS) which enhances the VCS and protects irreplaceable artwork and artifacts currently on display at the Butler Art Museum , Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum, and other museums. This unique system provides a flexible way to define protection zones within each exhibit under surveillance in any shape or size required. When these protective zones are breached, the CBMAS detects the changes in the images, and automatically sounds audio and visual alarms. Acuity-vct has a patent pending on this technology and is in the process of deploying this solution within other organizations where security needs to be provided in an open manner.
Additional Acuity-vct Analytics Examples Below shows Acuity-vct analytics protection zones electronically guarding the artifacts on display at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.
The picture below shows how the Acuity-vct analytics is protecting multiple pieces of art. The larger picture shows what the museum guests see when viewing the artwork. The smaller picture overlayed to the right, shows in blue highlighting where the alalytics protection zones are located. A single camera placed properly can protect an entire wall of a museum.
However all analytics are not created equally. The foundation of the Acuity-vct analytics products is our patent pending Adaptive Learning Technology (ALT). The Acuity-vct ALT utilizes advanced algorithms to identify repeating motion patterns to determine true motion from false motion events. The ALT is the reason we have been able to successfully deploy our analytics protection system without generating false alarms.
